If you or someone you know would like to run please notify a current board member as soon as possible.
Deadline to get on the ballot is Monday, November 8, 2010
To keep the party atmosphere and allow more time for the Band we will not be having an awards ceremony at this year’s party. All 2011 awards will be given out at the 2012 Chowder Cook-Off.

Board Member Elections
Election time is soon approaching and its time for YOU to consider running for a Board Member position. At our "End of The Year Party" (November 12th) we will be electing Board Members for 2011. Anyone interested in running needs to contact a current Board Member to get his or her name on the ballot no later than November 9th. Board Member positions are: President; Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer. Election results will be announced at the "End of The Year Party" and will become effective on January 1, 2012. Please consider running for one of these important positions.

Saltwater Marine are hosting a benefit tournament to help GEO club members Mark and Leslie Armstrong with Leslie’s medical expenses, and we are asking that our members lend a helping hand by joining in and fish the benefit tournament.

2011 5th Points Tournament & Social

5th Flounder Points Tournament & Social
Our 5th Flounder Points Tournament will be held on Saturday October 15th. Registration is on Friday, October 14th at the "Sea Witch" (227 Carolina Beach Avenue North, Carolina Beach,) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Fishing will begin at sunrise (club rules define sunrise as “Daylight” and is not determined by a specific time). Weigh-in will be at "Freddie's Yacht Yard" between 2:00pm and 3:00pm (400 Block of Canal Drive). Contestants must be in line to weigh-in no later than 3:00 pm. (If docking delays you, you must make eye contact and communicate with the weigh master or assistant to be considered eligible).
As this is the last points tournament we will have food at the weigh-in Saturday afternoon.

Our 4th Flounder Points Tournament will be held on Saturday September 24th. Registration is on Friday, September 23rd at the "Sea Witch" (227 Carolina Beach Avenue North, Carolina Beach,) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

The last two Points Tournaments and the Lady Angler saw some great flounder weighed in. We are expecting a large turnout for this upcoming points tournament.

2011 Lady Angler

Lady Angler Tournament
Our annual Lady Angler Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 with registration on Friday, September 9th at the Garage Mahal (511 Clarendon Ave, Carolina Beach). Registration will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. We will have a shrimparoo, live entertainment and a captains meeting after the registration. This is a club social event and all members are invited. So bring the family and join in the fun.
Just to let everyone know about the format for the tournament. Entry fee is $25.00 per angler, with prizes awarded to the largest fish in the following categories; King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Speckle Trout, Drum and Flounder. Only 1 award per angler and the entry fee qualifies you for all 5 categories. Also Ladies the "Charms" will be awarded again this year for the 1st place winners in each of the five categories. Guys may run the boat, catch bait, gaff or net the Ladies fish and above all be a "Gentlemen" all day. Lady anglers should put out lines, set the hook and catch eligible fish to qualify.
We have come up with another special "T-Shirt" for this tournament and they will be on sale during the registration on Friday. Above all this is a fun tournament and everyone have a good time!!! I look forward to seeing everyone there. For all the Guys that want to participate but don't have any "Lady Anglers" let us know because we have a few Ladies that need a boat to fish on.
"Results"
We had a total of 32 entries with 13 fish weighed in. We Had great weather for for the event.
The winners were:
1st place Flounder, Debbie Harrill 7.45 Lbs,
1st place 1st place Spanish Mackerel, Lynn Yeso .90 Lbs,
1st place Speckle Trout, Capt, Diane Smith 1.40 Lbs and
1st place Red Drum, Wanda Barbour 5.10 Lbs.
Nobody weighed in a King Mackerel.
A big thank you goes out to Vick & Lisa Matthis for the great job they did at the "Shrimparoo" on friday night. Also, a big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that helped make the weekend a success.
