Chart Buster Tournament Rules

This is a Sporting Club — Any Compromise of Honesty or Integrity will result in Loss of Membership

  1. Before entering fish, membership dues must be paid in full (due January 1st of each year). An entry will be disqualified if dues have not been paid.
  2. The contest year runs from January 1st to December 31st. Any entry caught after January 1st of the upcoming year will be counted towards the upcoming year tournament.
  3. There are three divisions: Men’s, Women’s and Junior (16 years and under). ​A person cannot enter a fish caught by someone else. You must physically make the catch (i.e. a Captain cannot enter a fish caught by one of the crew).
  4. All entries must be caught on LIVE BAIT ONLY and must be caught by hook and line in North Carolina state coastal waters or adjacent federal waters.
  5. All fish weighed must meet the North Carolina Saltwater Fishing Citation minimum weight requirements or be listed as Release Only eligible. Please refer to www.fishing-nc.com/nc-citation-requirements.php for specific guidelines.
    1. This rule does not apply to Jr Anglers. Any Saltwater fish is eligible.
    2. In Slot – Red Drums are excluded from this rule, these should be weighed at your local weigh station.
  6. All fish must be weighed on state certified scales or Got Em On Tournament scales during a tournament and must meet state or federal regulations
  7. Official weigh stations are Island Tackle and Hardware, Blackburn Brothers Seafood, and Tex’s Tackle. The weigh station will fill out an entry blank.
  8. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to mail your completed and signed entry to Got Em On, PO Box 6, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 within 30 days of the day the catch was made.
  9. Fish caught away from Pleasure Island and caught during a major tournament may be entered by submitting a weight receipt from an establishment using State certified scales, dated and signed by a witness with the witness’ phone number. The Chart Buster Form and official weight receipt must be mailed within 30 days to Got Em On, PO Box 6, Carolina Beach, NC 28428.
  10. Any fish that ties/breaks an existing club record must be viewed by a Board Member to verify the species and weight. A potential record caught away from Pleasure Island must include a photo clearly identifying the type of fish.
  11. Call a Board Member to resolve questionable identification of a fish.
  12. Plaques are awarded at the Chowder Cook-off in February for the largest fish (by weight) of each species entered.
